friday thursday, it wasn’t the wrong side but i was definitely leaning toward it when i woke up. i lingered oh let’s not have a bad day. instead of jumping online to read the tech headlines for work or scanning my inbox to see if anything needed my attention - i unrolled my yoga mat & worked my way into a seated forward bend. there’s something comforting yet renewing about this shape for me. it encourages length while crowding my center with the warmth generated from moving closer & closer to my thighs. 10 cycles of slow yet full inhales & exhales & i found it. what i refer to as active resting. i hung out there. just being. & then a splash of cold water on my face, coconut oil, several layers of coziness & out the door for a walk. first walk all week. i’ve been running instead. 7 days in a row of wanting to love it or at least hate it less. actually, the former: i want to love running. but this morning i needed something familiar. tomorrow, run again. this is going to be the theme for 2011: push yet honor. believe. xo
